How do i release the AviusLINK of my Avius device (releasing the Bluetooth connection)? 

Avius VHF-receiver can be attached to one mobile device at a time via Bluetooth. 


Ultracom Next app:

Open the main menu and select "Settings" -> select your VHF-receiver and select "Remove VHF receiver". This will release the Bluetooth connection between the mobile device and the VHF-receiver.


Old Ultracom app:

To release the device from the mobile device, open the Ultracom app -> open the main menu from the top left corner and select "settings" -> open the additional menu from the top right corner and select "Release AviusLINK", accept and now you can connect the VHF-receiver to a new mobile device.

Can the Avius collar have multiple admin users? 
Avius collar can have multiple admins. 

Ultracom Next app: You have to give your friend the admin rights for the collar. Open the main menu and select "devices" -> select your device and from the menu select "Add admin user" to add your friend as a admin. If your friend does not yet have a VHF-receiver connected to her mobile device,she can do it on the settings menu of the app. Please note that you have to be in a same group for your friend to be able to see the device on the map. Groups can be made from the main menu (Groups).

Old Ultracom app: Any VHF-receiver owner can work as an admin user for the Avius collar if they know the ID-number and password for the collar.

I cannot connect to my Avius VHF-receiver?
Make sure that the VHF-connection is turned on (the small VHF-receiver icon on the map view is green). If the icon is grey, tap on the icon and wait for it to turn green. Also make sure that your mobile device Bluetooth is turned on.

If you still cannot connect to the device, you can try to change the connection method of the VHF-receiver by holding the connection button (button with the circular arrows) of the VHF-receiver device for approximately six seconds. The VHF-receiver will flash the green LED-light to inform the user that the Bluetooth mode is changing. Release the button and wait for the device to restart.

After the Bluetooth mode is changed the blue LED-light of the VHF-receiver will blink twice per seconds until the connection has been established to the phone, after which the light will blink once per three seconds. Please note that after changing the Bluetooth mode you have to release the AviusLINK and reconnect the device again.

Ultracom Next app:

Open the main menu and select "settings". Select your VHF-receiver and remove the device from the app. You can now try to add the device again to the app.



Old Ultracom app:

The AviusLINK is released by opening the main menu -> select settings -> open the additional menu from the top right corner and select "release AviusLINK" -> accept the release and return back to the map view -> tap on the small Avius VHF-receiver icon on the top corner of the screen to reconnect the VHF-receiver to the mobile device.

I cannot connect to my Avius collar?
Make sure that the AviusLINK on the Ultracom app is turned on and the Bluetooth connection on the mobile device is turned on. AviusLINK can be turned on from the top of the map screen, by tapping on the small Avius VHF-receiver icon (the icon should be green).


Ultracom Next app:

When adding the collar to the app, make sure that the collar is outside and connected to the satellites (the green led light on the collar should blink once per three seconds). Also make sure that you are adding the device by using the correct ID. The collar ID can be found on the first page of the manual or under the collar part on a separate sticker.


If you are still having problems on adding the collar to the app, please contact our support.


Old Ultracom app:
Make sure that you have correct information added (collar ID and password) in the app for the device. Open the main menu -> select "devices" -> edit the device (Android: hold your finger on the device and select the "pen"-icon (edit). Apple: swipe the screen from right to left on the device and select "edit").

Make sure that the Avius ID is the collar's ID. You can find the ID on the manual of the device. Also note that the default factory password is 0000. If you have a factory new device, first add the device with the password 0000 and later change the password from the info-menu.

How do i change the password to my Avius collar?
The factory password of the Avius collar is 0000.

Changing the password on Ultracom Next app:

Next app will fetch a random password for the device. You can fetch a new random password by tapping on the password field.


Changing the password on old Ultracom app:

After the device has been added to the application with the factory password, it is recommended to change the password. This can be done by opening the bottom menu on the map view -> info -> open the additional menu from the top right corner and select "Change password". Change the password to a unique password and save the changed. Please note that you have to have connection to the VHF-receiver and collar, and they have to be next to each other for the password change to go through.

Remember also to inform your friends that are tracking the same device, to change the password (from the devices menu).

My Avius device bark microphone is too sensitive or it's not sensitive enough? 

The admin user of the device can change the microphone sensitivity.


Ultracom Next app:

Open the main menu and select "devices" -> select your device and select "Bark counter sensitivity". Adjust the sensitivity up to make the microphone more sensitive and down if you want to adjust the microphone to less sensitive to sounds. 


Old Ultracom app:

  1. Turn the Avius collar and VHF-receiver on.
  2. Open the Ultracom app and make sure that you have the correct device selected.  
  3. Open the bottom menu on the map view and select info.  
  4. Open the additional menu from the top right corner and select "Bark sensitivity". 
  5. Adjust the bark sensitivity and send the command to the device.  
     

If the application is not drawing the red bark route line when the dog is barking, try to adjust the bark limit:

  1. Open the application main menu and select "Devices"
  2. Select your device and edit it (Android: hold your finger on the device and select the pen-icon (edit) on the top of the screen. Apple: swipe from right to left on the device and select "Edit".
  3. Change the bark limit to a lower number. Recommended setting is 1.
  4. Save the changes.
